Wax moths? Small Hive Beetles (SHB)? Nope! Incorrectly applied pesticides (not herbicides) most likely caused this colony to die out! Let’s use this as a learning opportunity and show what can happen when directions are not followed. Suburban yards and gardeners may be doing more damage than the much maligned farmers through simple ignorance! Grass being the largest, least diverse and least helpful mono crop (in the US) gets soaked regularly with various chemicals, some more toxic than others. If your going to use herbicides, pesticides, fungicides etc. then please do so according to directions, do not mix them, and try to avoid powdered pesticides when possible (pollinators like bees can get it mixed up with, and in, pollen that they then take back to their home poisoning more of, if not, the entire colony). Try to apply pesticides at night or in the late evening when pollinators are home from the fields. Thanks for watching. www.BeeResQ.com
